Literature Text

It was around Christmas.  Gilbert had politely asked you to attend his Christmas Party.  You had begun to notice that he wasn't as obnoxious as he usually was.  Perhaps it was just the spirit of the season.  Anyway, you dressed in the nicest dress you could find, lightly applied some matching makeup, and grabbed the final touch - heels.
You reached Gilbert's front door and lightly knocked.

"_____! You're early!" Exclaimed the seasonally dressed Prussia.  He was wearing a green dress shirt and slacks, with Christmas themed pins pinned neatly on the shirt.  Honestly, this had been the first time you'd ever seen him like this.

"Oh I'm sorry if I'm early!" You apologized, even though you really didn't need too.

"No, no! It's fine, really.  Would you mind helping me add the finishing touches?" Gilbert asked. "It'll be fun! I promise."

"Sure!" You responded, a bit curious about what exactly "Fun" meant.

He happily lead into the kitchen, where there were two cakes, perfectly iced white.  Along with that there were different colored icings in bowls for the season, sprinkles, peppermint, it was endless.  You eyed what seemed like an endless supply of Christmas candy.

"Wow.. Gilbert, how much was all this candy?" You asked, awaiting the answer.  All this candy must've cost a fortune! It looked like the whole supply at the supermarket was wiped by Gilbert.

"That's not important! We're going to decorate the cakes with all this candy! C'mon, doesn't it sound fun?" He was practically pleading you to decorate cakes with him.

"Sure, sounds fun! But, I think you bought too much candy..really." You commented as you picked a green gummy bear, one of many, as plopped into your mouth.

"Oh well! Whatever we don't use we can just give to Alfred to stuff his face with."  You giggled at this comment. Alfred would surely freak out at the amount of candy that would be in store for him.

After that you began to decorate your cake. You went decorated the cake so it was covered in green, along with a red icing border on the top and bottom. To finish it off you added peppermints around the borders, a gingerbread man sticking out the top, and the words "Merry Christmas" iced around it.  You thought is was a master piece.  You licked your finger clean of icing and showed it to Gilbert.

"Hey Gilbert! Look at this!" You said, rather excitedly, as you proudly pointed to your perfectly decorated cake.

"Wow, ______. I've never seen such an awesome cake!" He exclaimed, clearly impressed. "Look at mine..."

Oh Goodness. Gilbert's cake looked like it could send someone into an extreme sugar high.  It had candy all over it.  Gummy bears, peppermint, M&M's, even a few lollipops.  You name it, and it was probably on there.  That cake was a candy mountain of pure chaos.

"What nice cake, Gilbert! I bet it's yummy.." You said, eying the cake's decorative layer.  To be honest, it looked like a toddler's work.

"Thanks, ____.  I think yours is nicer, though. But, hey, any candy junkie will go wild at mine." He laughed, making the best out of his lack of cake-decorating skills.

"Thanks, Gilbert." You blushed. Then, there was a knock at the door.

"Hey, bro! The party machine has arrived! Check it out, Candy!!" It was Alfred, followed by Arthur.

"Go wild, Alfred! Eat all the candy, just don't touch ____'s master piece of a cake!" Gilbert said, shutting the door behind Arthur.

"Don't eat so much candy that you go into diabetic shock, you git!" Arthur grumbled at Alfred, who was clearly ignoring him.

~Time - Skip~

Soon enough everyone had arrived - Feliciano, Ludwig, Matthew [Who you made sure didn't get forgotten], Kiku, Ivan, Elizabeta, Roderich, Francis, Yao, and a few others.  The place was packed with mingling people.

"Dudes! It's time for Karaoke!" Alfred yelled, holding a microphone in his hands. "____, your up first!"

"Awww no, Alfred, I don't sing, really.." You said a bit shy.  There was no way you were going in front of all those people.

"C'mon! It's not that bad, really! None of us can sing, either!" Alfred whined, he really wanted you to do this.

"Fine, Alfred. In the spirit of Christmas, I will sing for you! Don't prepare to be dazzled." You said, taking the microphone and walked in front of the karaoke machine.  You sighed and heard the jingle of a familiar Christmas tune.

You smiled to yourself and began to sing:

"Last Christmas I gave you my heart

But the very next day you gave it away

This year to save me from tears

I'll give it to someone special
."

By the end of the song everyone was cheering for you. You smiled, a bit embarrassed.  You caught eye of Gilbert, who smiled a gave you a thumbs up.

"Whooo! Go, _____! Girl can sing!" Alfred cheered. "Now, let's do the mistletoe! Remember, the mistletoe has no gender preferences! It can't tell who's what!" Alfred announced, standing until the mistletoe the he had hung up.  Suddenly, he pulled Arthur under with him.

"You wanker! I'm NOT kissing you!!" The blood-red Arthur screamed, shaking his hands in the air.

"Hahahaha! You know you want to!" The American laughed, clutching his stomach.

Meanwhile, Gilbert had come up behind you, slinging your coat over your shoulders.

"Let's go outside." He murmured, a bit shyly, and you agreed.

It was cold, but it was still a beautiful winter night.  There was fresh snow on the ground the crunch under your feet while you walked beside Gilbert.

"So, what brings us out here?" You asked.  It was a bit out of the blue, everyone else was inside his house, unattended to say the least.

"I just wanted some fresh air. I didn't come alone." Gilbert said, avoiding your gaze.

"Now, you know that's not the reason. What is it?" You said, stopping in the sparkling snow.

"I need to tell you something, actually."

"What is it?"

"Merry Christmas! I mean..um..Ich Leibe Dich.." Gilbert fumbled over his words, his face dusted pink.

"I love you too. Merry Christmas also." You responded quietly.

Almost immediately he lunged at you, kissing you with passion.  At first you were shocked, but soon kissed back, wrapping your arms around Gilbert's soft, scarf-covered neck. The need to breath  broke the kiss, and left the both of you blushing in the cold of the night.

"Sorry I did that so suddenly." he apologized, a bit embarrassed.

"Don't be, I liked it." You blushed.

Gilbert leaned in to kiss you again, but this time you stumbled back, falling within the few feet of snow on the ground.  He soon followed, toppling onto you, still kissing the whole time.

"Oh Sorry..again." Gilbert blushed, helping you out of the snow. Then, light flakes began to sprinkle down.

"It's okay. We should go back to your place. With left it unattended, with Alfred there..." You giggled. Who knows what was going on there.

"Oh man..I'm so stupid for leaving Alfred in my house unattended!!"

Gilbert seemed displeased with himself and you laughed.  This was the best Christmas you've had in a long while.  And who knows, maybe it got better?
